The Tooele Valley Community Cooperative (TVCC) was established in December of 2005 to address unmet community needs in Tooele County. The cooperative consists of five board members and several volunteer committee members.  Through the utilization of volunteer efforts and community donations, the Tooele Valley Community Cooperative supports and assists other organizations to improve the quality of life for the most vulnerable members of our community.  The goals of the cooperative include:

-  To provide advocacy and basic necessities to individuals and families in crisis, including relief of the poor, distressed or underprivileged;

-  To address women’s issues, including rape crisis and domestic violence;

- To assist in efforts to help those battling addiction and/or transitioning out of jail, including the establishment and promotion of a detoxification center and halfway house;

- To provide capital improvements at historic and recreation site;

One of the organizations supported by TVCC is Tooele County Relief Services.  The Relief Services program works in collaboration with multiple agencies, religious organizations and community groups to help those who are in crisis due to lack of basic shelter, food or clothing.  Relief Services has three primary functions to provide “TLC” for those in need in Tooele County:

1)  Triage:  Provide crisis intervention by assessing the unmet needs of people in crisis, and prioritizing resources for those with the direst need;

2)  Link:  Refer families & individuals to appropriate resources, and distribute donated goods to the people that need them.

3)  Communicate:  Document the services provided and the needs that have not been able to be met, and communicate the information to community partners so that resources can be used most effectively.
